世界は音譜帯と呼ばれる六つの振動層によって作られている。
音譜帯は、それぞれ属性を持った音素によって構成されており、一番外側から、光･火・水･風・土・闇の順に並んでいる。
人々はこの世界をオールドラントと呼び、音素を操る技術を譜術と称して文明を発展させていった。

ある時、一部の譜術士たちが音譜帯に流れている七番目の音素を発見した。
この音素がオールドラントの誕生から消滅までの記憶を有していると言う事実が分かると、オールドラントの為政者たちは大混乱に陥る。

未来を視るべきとする集団と、それを眉唾として否定する集団に分かれ、やがて大規模な戦乱が発生する。
譜術士たちを擁する未来視派は劣勢であった。
そんな中、未来視に長けた譜術士『ユリア』が登場した。

彼女は七番目の音素を詠みとり、何百年もの先の未来を予測した。
神懸かり的なユリアの登場によって、事態は逆転する。
人々はユリアの預言に詠まれた「未曾有の大繁栄」を信じ、世界を預言どおりに進めていくのであった。

The Dawn of Auldurant, Volume 1
The planet Auldrant is formed from the six-layer vibration strata knowns as the "fon belt". Each layer is compes of fonons of a particular type; the outermost layer is Light, followed by Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and finally Shadow.
People learned to control these fonons to perform "fonic artes", and used that ability as the basis of their civilization.

The Dawn of Auldrant, Volume 2
Eventually, some fonists discovered a seventh type of fonon in the fon belt.
Study of these fonons revealed that they contained the "memories" of the planet from its birth to its destruction, throwing Auldrant's political landscape into chaos.

The Dawn of Auldrant, Volume 3
The world became split into two groups, one which held that the ability to see into the future should be taken advantage of, one which warned that doing so would lead only to disaster. This rift eventually widened into full-fledeged war.
As the proponents of viewing the future, including most fonists, began losing ground, a fonist named Yulia, particularly skilled in viewing the future, appeared.

The Dawn of Auldrant, Volume 4
Yulia read the memories contained in the Seventh Fonon, predicting the future hundreds of years in advance. With her miraculous appearance, the situation quickly changed. People began to hold faith in the "unprecedented prosperity" read in Yulia's Score, and history proceeded to unfold as the Score dictated.

チーグル族は人間についで譜術を扱うことに長けた種族である。
ユリア･ジュエと契約し、ソーサラーリングを与えられた。
リングの力で言葉を喋れるようになったとの伝承も残っている。
現在チーグル族は、ルグニカ大陸北部の森に集落を作り、群れで行動をしている。

Cheagles, the Sacred Beasts
Cheagles are a species skilled in fonic artes, second only to humans. They entered into an agreement with Yulia Jue and were given the Sorcerer's Ring.
It is said that the ring allows the holder to speak human language.
At present, cheagles live in settlements in the forests of the Northern Rugnica Plains.

2002年マルクトとキムラスカの間で始まった争いは「ホド戦争」と呼ばれている。
国境線をめぐる小競り合いによって、戦乱が勃発。
ホドはキムラスカの軍に制圧され、略奪された。
このときの争いでホド島が消滅してしまう。
キムラスカの策略とするマルクとの主張だが、消滅の原因は未だに不明。
その後教団の折衝によって休戦するまでの半年間抗争は続いた。

The Battle over Hod
The conflict that arose in ND 2002 between Malkuth and Kimlasca is commonly known as the Hod War, and initially arose from the disputes along the countries' borders.
During the war, the island of Hod mysteriously vanished. Malkuth blamed Kimlasca for this incident, but the true cause is not yet known. The war continued until efforts by the Order of Lorelei resulted in a truce between the two countries.

石碑には預言に対する心構えや、未来についての考えなどが書かれています。

My First Pilgrimage
A "Pilgrimage" is a journey on which we visit the 33 monuments located throughout the Padamiyan continent. The monuments tell us how to approach the Score and how to think about the future. For your first pilgrimage, you may find it easier to visit the five major monuments in the "beginner's pilgrimage".
You may also want to have a member of the Order of Lorelei guide you around.

History of the Order of Lorelei
The Order of Lorelei was established to use the vision of the future described by Yulia Jue to lead the people of Auldrant and save the world from destruction.
The Order of Lorelei directs history to proceed according to the Score first read by Yulia, thus ensuring the future prosperity of the world.

The Independent State of Daath
Daath is an independent religious state located between the Kingdom of Kimlasca and the Malkuth Empire, and maintains a position of neutrality between the two countries.
Daath is governed by the Order of Lorelei, and protected by the Oracle Knights, the military branch of the Order.

Layout of Daath
Daath is composed of 33 Quarters, which number derives from the monuments scattered throughout the Padamiyan continent.
Pilgrims arriving from the Daath Bay via the Fourth Monument Hill first set foot in the First Quarter.

Let's Learn the Days of the Week
There are seven days in one week. They are, in order, as follows:
Remday,
Lunaday,
Ifritday,
Undineday,
Sylphday,

Gnomeday.
After Gnomeday, a new week begins with Remday again. Flot Slots and Sephiroth
Points in material objects at which the fonons composing those objects tend to gather are known as "fon slots".
These exist in all matter, including in the surface of the planet itself.
Of these latter fon slots, the ten major fon slots are called "Sephiroth". The Sorcerer's Ring
A ring imbued with fon power, used in the study of fonic artes. Made from a fonstone fragment, the Sorcerer's Ring can increase the power of fonic artes through fon verses carved in the ring, or by exposing the ring to high concentrations of fonons.

Memory particles are the source of Auldrant's energy and are normally contained within the planet's core. It is said that they are a fragment of the planet's memory, hence the name.
In the Dawn Age, Dr. Southern-Cross proposed a system of generating limitless energy by funneling these memory particles through the fon belt and returning them to the core. We know this phenomenon as the Planet Storm: the Storm is what powers all modern fonic artes and fontech. Auldrant Explained: The Planet Storm
The Planet Storm refers to the flow of memory particles through the fon belt. The memory particles leave the planet's core through the Radiation Gate, circle the planet, and return to the core via the Absorption Gate. The memory particles pass through the fon belt in this process, joining with fonons in the various layers to create Seventh Fonons.
